Chiropractic Care

Dr. Jason Cerutti adjusting a patient's neckIt’s important for us to not only address the site of your pain but to go deeper in understanding its source. Our expertise helps us to identify specific spinal misalignment.

When bones move out of position in your back, pressure will be placed on the spinal cord and surrounding nerves. This pressure not only produces pain, but it also affects the way the brain communicates with the systems and vital areas of the body. With spinal misalignment, function suffers.

Our Approach to Achieving Wellness

We feature three distinct phases of care that produce optimal results:

This is the most intense aspect of your care, with the highest frequency of visits. This phase is designed to get you out of pain as quickly as possible.

This phase begins when pain and swelling are significantly decreased. The objective of this stage is to train the surrounding muscles and ligaments to “hold” in a corrective state.

Visits are less frequent but of paramount importance to recovery.

This stage is designed to maintain the spinal correction that was accomplished. Visits are usually scheduled on a monthly basis, depending on lifestyle and occupational habits.

Frequently Asked Questions

Once I go to a chiropractor, will I always have to go?
This is a very common misconception. It would be like saying “once you go to a gym you always have to go.” Of course you don’t always have to go to the gym but if you stop, you lose the muscle you have built as well as the endurance you have developed as well. It’s also like saying “once you eat healthy, you always have to eat healthy.” You don’t always have to eat healthy but when you stop and go back to an unhealthy eating lifestyle you will gain back the weight you lost and negate the nutritional health benefits. The spinal column needs to be looked at the same way – you don’t always have to go to a chiropractor but if you want to continue good spinal health, good joint movement and an improved functioning nervous system then it’s important to maintain it through regular chiropractic care.

Does a chiropractic adjustment hurt?

It should not hurt but when some patients are in severe pain it can be a little uncomfortable when restoring proper motion to the spinal column. Being in practice for 25 years, I have become accustomed to working gently and compassionately with patients in severe pain to make them as comfortable as possible.

Can chiropractic cure everything?

Chiropractic realigns spinal bones taking pressure off of the nervous system allowing the body to work at 100% to heal itself. Can chiropractic cure everything?

Why would I have my newborn or young child adjusted?

The birth process can be one of the most traumatic events placed upon the spinal column. As a child learns to crawl, cruise and walk they can fall up to 2500 times. Chiropractic care can fix these little problems early rather than trying to fix bigger problems later in life. Raising healthy children rather than fixing broken adults is the way to go.

Can chiropractic help with colic and how?

Yes.The nerves in the lumbar portion of the spine control the abdominal organs and intestinal tract. When spinal bones put pressure on these nerves it can cause improper function and issues such as colic. Chiropractic removes the nerve pressure and allows the body to function normally.

Does insurance cover chiropractic visits?

Most insurance companies provide some coverage but only allow enough visits to get you out of pain but not fix the problem. We provide family plans and affordable care whether you have insurance coverage or not.
How much does it cost?
It depends on what the problem is, how much care you need and how long the care plan will take.

Do I need a referral from my physician?

NO! Chiropractors are primary care providers and do not need a referral from your primary.

Do you work with medical doctors?

We will work with all doctors – orthopedics, neurologists, physical therapists and your primary MD. We will do whatever it takes to get you well and we are always happy to work with your healthcare team to achieve it as quickly as possible.

Will I get adjusted on my first visit?

We will do a complete health history, exam and computerized spinal scan on your initial visit. In order to determine if chiropractic is right for you and what needs to be adjusted, we sit and analyze your scan and exam findings and come up with the best course of action for you. We provide care on the second visit once we know all the specifics to ensure your safety and that what we do is highly beneficial for your well-being.

Will you suggest exercises or other things I can do?

We sure do. Once we get a good understanding of your citation we can provide at home exercises and stretches to get you better faster.

Can someone who has had back surgery see a chiropractor?

Yes! Every case is different and depends on what type of surgery but most of the time areas above and below the surgery can be aligned to keep the spine healthy and strong while reducing the need the need for additional spinal surgery.
